Disability Africa celebrates 14th years of successful operations with ambitious new five-year plan

In 2025, Disability Africa (DA) has reached a major landmark in its development as its play-based programmes begun receiving widespread recognition as a powerful and effective strategy to promote the welfare and inclusion of disabled children in African countries.

Since 2011, when the organisation was founded, Disability Africa helped over 680 disabled children, who have benefitted from their Inclusion Projects in Kenya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. Support included provision of hot meals, medical support, hospital visits, physiotherapy sessions, and organised surgeries.

In November 2024, the organisation launched DA2029, a five-year plan to build on the success of the previous 14 years by engaging new, additional partners in Africa and double the number of children the organisation supports.

Furthermore, DA has been awarded funding from The Fore, to develop a core UK Team.

The James and Grace Anderson Trust is proud to have supported DA with grants since May 2022.
